Taliban-militants-target-Afghan-presidential-palace
Salangi added that gunfight ensued between the attackers and the palace security forces, leading to the death of all Taliban militants. A palace source said that the militants failed to get pass the huge grounds around the presidential palace.
"A big group of attackers have struck against the CIA office as the main target and also the palace and the defence ministry nearby," Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told AFP.
Experts maintain that the attack in the heart of Kabul shows that Taliban still has the firepower and logistics to mount attacks in any part of the country.

Many Delhi Metro Stations Fall In Highly Disaster prone - Zone - (UNISDR).
A UN report on disaster risk reduction has said that Delhi Metro stations are in a high-risk flood and earthquake zone. The finding is based on a comprehensive risk assessment study carried out by Bangalore-based Indian Institute for Human Settlements for United Nations office on disaster risk reduction
Metro has now become the lifeline of Delhi with around two million people using its services on a daily basis. According to the report, many people will die if Delhi metro gets hit by either flood or earthquake.
"In terms of direct risks, more than 50 stations are located in areas of high-earthquake hazard, exposing the line to earthquakes of up to a magnitude of 8 on the Richter scale. The Metro line is exposed to high flood and earthquake risk even for short-return periods of one-10 years,"
The warning that many such areas are in high-risk zone. According to the report, the Airport line, which connects New Delhi railway station to the international airport is also in the high-risk prone area.
